            Lauren Rapciak – professional cosplayer and blogger – in her blog post, “5 Things You Should Never Say to a Cosplayer” (2013), suggest some compliments are not as great as they sound and ways of improving your compliments when you are talking to a cosplayer. She develop her idea by sharing her past experience at a convention (her outfit got compliment by instead it made her feel bad), She then start to give  tips on which compliments hurt and how to improve the compliments. Her purpose is to inform readers the awkward situation of a bad compliment and encourage reader to say it in a better way. She establishes a friendly tone with her audience, who she expects to be people who want to know more about how to compliments and first time convention attends.

In this article “Cosplayers Are Passionate, Talented Folks. But There's A Darker Side To This Community, Too.” Hernandez talk about the cosplayer’s passionate with cosplay and what have they put into their cosplay.  She explains that when they cosplay they don’t just want to show the end result but want to let people see their hard work put into the detailing of the design. This article starts off with the difference between a fan and a cosplayer, then it continues onto an interview with famous cosplayers and what are their views on the community. This article is mostly about the cosplay community and the difference of a fan and a cosplayer. The point of view from difference aspect of each person is very inspiring.

This article is a useful source for people who would like to know more thoughts from the cosplayers about the cosplay community and how it works. It shows a lot of key points that even cosplayers forget. One of the key point is cosplaying is an element of escapism. It means cosplaying, a nerdy outcast can find not only an outlet for their devotion to something, but also a strong community that shares a similar passion. This information is reliable due to the fact that there are a few famous cosplayers such as Kat Elisabeth, who won the cosplaying contest from LA convention, interviewed. Also this site is trust worthy because of the approval of the website admin, Dreamhost, If the content was not approved it is mostly because it was unrelated topic or appropriate. This article helped me cleared out some confusion about why cosplayers want to cosplay and their idea behind the cosplay, it helped me understand a lot better about the community.

This source fits into my research on cosplay because it clears up information for some people who are unsure about the cosplayer’s passion and how to explain it. I know if someone is unclear, I can just send them this link and they will understand so much about cosplayers and the community. This article hits many keys points which also support my thoughts the on cosplay community. Such as what is the passion for cosplayers and why do cosplayers love to cosplay.
